final visit!

Image
This was my final field study trip! And I noticed many new things. First of all, this was the first time I saw ducks in the pond! That was fun! The water level was also a few inches higher than in the past visits, probably due to the melting of the snow. I saw a flock of birds doing a figure 8 formation in the air and thought that was cool. Also found a softball in the stuff washed up by the banks! I saw some bark that was ripped off a tree, probably done by a muskrat. And lastly I found some beautiful orange mushrooms! I visited the place at 3:43 on November 28. It was about 43 degrees with 58% humidity.

Visit #5!

On Sunday, November at 12:52, I revisited my field study area at Paw Paw Park. I was testing out a new fat tire bike there, and did my field study while I was there. It was snowing when I got there! First snow of the year! The temperature was 32 degrees with 83% humidity. The day length today was 9 hours and 48 minutes. My pictures show how it was snowing! I was so excited! The second picture is showing how there is now even less algae and frogs. In fact, I did not see one frog. I did, however, see a deer running through the woods.

Visit number 4!!

On Sunday, Oct 30 at 5:23, I visited my field study area, Paw Paw Park. It was very gloomy when I got there. lots of clouds and no sun. The temperature was 57 degrees with 91% humidity. The day length today was 10 hours and 21 minutes. When I visited my spot, I noticed less vegetation. There were less leaves everywhere. I also noticed that there was less duckweed, and I also saw something big go across the surface of the water, but I did not get a picture. Once again, I caught another frog. I made my sound map and my sketch. The sketch turned out to be milkweed.

3ed visit!

On Saturday, October 14 at 1:05 pm, I visited my area. It was around 45 degrees when I went, and the length of the day was around 10 hours and 56 minutes. There were a lot of clouds, and it was very gloomy. When I was there, I noticed a lot of things. First, there are not as many weeds in the lake. It is also a lot less murky. I also caught a frog. What was interesting is that this is the same species of frog I caught on my first visit, but this one is a lot more brown. I think that is due to the weather getting colder. I also found a golf ball in the mud, probably there from when the park was a golf course. And finally I found an oil spill.

Second visit

On Thursday, September 9 at 5:08, I visited my spot. The length of the day was around 11 hours, and it was about 53 degrees. It was very sunny with some scattered clouds. While I was there I took some photos. First is the panorama of the spot, second is a new bug that I found. The third is tiny pine cone looking things I thought were interesting, and last was some purple flowers. I also saw a turtle, but could not get a photo of it.
